Meet Natalie Dewey – Navigator for Moving on Tyne and Wear

Natalie Dewey – Navigator

Natalie has worked for Humankind as a navigator in the Moving On Tyne and Wear project since April 2017. The programme supports people aged 25+ across Tyne and Wear who are out of work due to complex health issues and other barriers to get back into training, volunteering, or employment.

How does it work?

A referral can be made by yourself or a relevant agency e.g. GP. Once accepted onto the programme you will be assigned a Navigator, who will give you the one-to-one support you need. Your Navigator will be with you every step of the way, reviewing what help you need and ensuring you get the right support from a range of specialist services, helping you build on your strengths.

Natalie works across the South Tyneside area with a team of colleagues to provide:

  • one-to-one support
  • access to training
  • volunteering
  • work placements
  • support with job interviews and writing CVs
  • peer mentor programmes
  • self-employment advice

Natalie says: “I’m finding this a worthwhile and rewarding role. I have a wide and diverse range of participants and am going from strength to strength.”

Can we support you?
