Paul Hobson, a volunteer at North Yorkshire Horizons in Selby was inspired by the service’s screening of the film Anonymous People at Selby Town Hall and spoke to the audience, unprompted.
He gave a moving testimony about what Horizons had done for him.
”This month I am celebrating the third year in my recovery . (cheers) What I would like to say is to make recovery happen you have to embrace everything, take every opportunity you can, use places like North Yorkshire Horizons.
“They are an absolutely fantastic service. Without their help I would not be where I am today. A couple of years ago I decided to become a smart facilitator and hopefully now I inspire people to help them in their own recovery. Thank you very much.”
