A shared value of both Humankind and Blenheim is innovation and together we will be ambitious, drawing together skills and resources to innovate and adapt. We will have more impact on people’s well being and will continue and develop our innovative service design and delivery, with ambitious plans to extend our digital offers.
To continue our commitment to this we are delighted to introduce the Innovation Unit which is responsible for transforming evidence-base into high impact products and services to meet people’s complex health and social needs.
The latest product, DrinkCoach, is an online early intervention tool designed to reduce the harms alcohol has on society. Visit and you’ll discover a seamless pathway from screening, advice, to treatment, all within the same secure site. It is the only site in the UK to offer this kind of end-to-end service.
It includes an online AUDIT (Alcohol User Disorders Test), access to a free drink tracker app and an online coaching service.
Both the AUDIT and/or online coaching can be commissioned by local authorities and to date our AUDIT test has delivered a cost saving of over £3 million pounds* to the UK economy since inception. App downloads now top 47,000 and the coaching service is steadily growing.
These products and services have been developed in conjunction with our service-users, first at Haringey Action on Alcohol, later at Blenheim and now at Humankind. The team will continue its rich tradition of co-production at Humankind as it develops other new and exciting projects.
*Based on PHE estimates of £27 saved for every Higher and Increasing Risk individual who receives brief advice.
