We're beating the drum for volunteering

By Ann Hall, Volunteer Development Manager

Our annual Volunteers’ Week event is taking place on the morning of Wednesday 6th June and is open to all Humankind Volunteers.

The Volunteer Coordinators and I have been working hard to make this event bigger than ever before. We really want to be able to show our amazing volunteers, how much we appreciate the time, commitment and dedication they give to the organisation and the work we do.

This year we are holding the celebrations in a quirky setting in Leeds. It will be in a barn at HollyBush TCV. Hollybush is an environmental and conservation charity and is also a major local centre for volunteering in Leeds, fitting in with our theme. We have some fantastic workshops for everyone to participate in including a drumming workshop.

The theme of this year’s Volunteers’ Week is ‘volunteering for all’, celebrating the huge range of people who give their time in so many ways.

We would like a number of Humankind volunteers to speak at the event because the individual stories are all inspiring.

Two of Humankind’s Trustees will be attending the event and they will be looking forward to learning from the volunteers as well.
