Supporting Recovery in Leeds

5 ways is the Leeds recovery service supporting clients leaving structured Drug and Alcohol treatment to sustain their recovery.

The dedicated building  hosts a range of  groups and activities;

  • Learning to Live again drop in
  • Guitar Group
  • SMART Group – self management and recovery training group
  • Arts and Crafts group
  • DAZL dance group
  • Allotment group
  • Music production
  • Wonder Woman group – empowerment for women, holistic and emotional wellbeing
  • Courses on Drug and Alcohol awareness for families.
  • Courses on Literacy and Numeracy  
  • Courses on Improving Mental health, a Yoga group and a Mindfulness group.
  • A ‘Progress’ programme - to improve wellbeing and future prospects
  • A range of Mutual Aid groups, including a Farzi Speaking NA group
  • Fam-anon
  • AA groups including ACA group – Adult Children of Alcoholics.
  • A Rehab preparation group and a Post Detox group called Which Way Now?  

5 Ways has a regular brunch club and free refreshments across the day. It hosts social events like Pizza night, Open Mic Night (a talent show) and drama classes that have resulted in performances at local theatres.

In addition to trained staff that case manage service users, the Centre also has an ETE worker supporting clients back in to education and employment. There is also a volunteer counsellor.

5ways is part of the Forward Leeds partnership but works with all recovery services in Leeds.
