We're here to help
We provide easy to access advice, information and support for anyone under 18 or family members supporting a young person who is experiencing issues around drug or alcohol use in Barnsley. The service is free and confidential and we work with a wide range of established partners to ensure that the full needs of every young person is met.
How we work:
- Assessments take place at a time and in a setting that is most appropriate for each young people which could be at home, at school, via video etc
- Virtual drop-in sessions take place during school and college lunch times
- Young people requiring structured treatment will receive high-quality, evidence-based, personalised support

- Individual care plans will be designed alongside the young person to meet their specific needs
- If a prescription is required, young people will have access to safe, effective and recovery-focused prescribing interventions
- Humankind services are underpinned by an inclusive ‘Think Family’ approach, ensuring that parents/carers are supported holistically to build individual/family resilience, engage with support and build upon existing strengths and provide a safe, positive family environment
